Three isomeric 4-[(n-bromophenyl)carbamoyl]butanoic acids (n = 2, 3 and 4) as DNA intercalator: Synthesis, physicochemical characterization, antimicrobial activity, antioxidant potential and in silico study

A series of three isomeric 4-[(n-bromophenyl)carbamoyl]butanoic acids (n = 2, 3 and 4) were synthesized their structures confirmed by FTIR, NMR, MS, micro elemental analysis (CHN) single crystal X-ray crystallography. Kinks are noted in the molecular n 2 compounds, namely about methylene-C–C(carbonyl) N–C(phenyl) bonds; no such twist former bond is seen 4 molecule. In packing, supramolecular tapes evident, being constructed orthogonally orientated O-H…O(carbonyl) N-H…O(amide) hydrogen bonds. The compounds interact with salmon sperm DNA via an intercalative mode as UV-visible spectroscopic viscometric techniques. results antimicrobial activity performed against five bacterial two fungal strains show that these have < 50% inhibition. Compound has shown maximum 78% DPPH scavenging activity. SwissADME webserver was used for silico study screened it found they obey rules drug-likeness exhibit good potential bioavailability.
